Rui Tato Marinho - Editor-in-Chief of the Acta Médica Portuguesa - was awarded the Medal for Merit of the Portuguese Medical Association (Medalha de Mérito da Ordem dos Médicos), given to physicians in recognition of “a working life and personal merit, with a relevant contribution to the dignification of medical profession, of Medicine and Humanity”.
 
The award ceremony, part of the XVIII National Congress of Medicine,  was held on the 27 November, at the Centro de Cultura e Congressos of the Secção Regional do Norte da Ordem dos Médicos, chaired by President José Manuel Silva.
