From September 2017, Acta Médica Portuguesa, the scientific journal published by the Portuguese Medical Association, has a new Editor in Chief, Dr.Tiago Villanueva. Since 2004, he has been working with “The BMJ”, beginning as a Clegg Scholar and being now an Associate Editor, which has provided him with a vast expertise in medical publishing. He is also a General Practitioner working at the Reynaldo dos Santos health unit, near Lisbon.

His project focus on the improvement of AMP, particularly its quality standards. In order to achieve this he will lead a team of dedicated and motivated Editors. An investment in a new and better communication strategy will also allow for an increase of national and international awareness of both readers and authors.
