After a brief theoretical introduction on mental anorexia the authors present a clinical case with this pathology, a male patient, which is rare in this pathology, who had been admitted to the Psychiatric Department of S. Francisco Xavier Hospital in 1994. Firstly the authors present a brief chronological summary of the patient's history in order to focus on the insidious development of this pathological process with increasing severity. Secondly the essential features of the disease are explained for the clinical evaluation of this patient. Finally the therapeutic approach is presented, drafted in a multidisciplinary perspective.Downloads
