Ultrasound study of pancreatic masses.

Os autores fizeram a revisão de 130 casos com suspeita clinica de massa tumoral pancreática em 9830 exames ecotomográficos efectuados no departamento de ecotomografia do I.P.O.F.G. no período compreendido entre Setembro 1980 e Dezembro 1984 e determinaram a sensibilidade, especificidade, acuidade e índices de predictibilidade positivo e negativo do método. Os resultados obtidos evidenciaram coincidência com outras series publicadas na literatura. O método apresenta uma maior sensibilidade que especificidade e acuidade, sendo o índice de predictabilidade negativo credor de maior confiança que o índice de predictibilidade positivo.
