Volvulus of the transverse colon continues to be a rare medical problem in the bibliographic medical revisions of large bowel obstructions (1%), being frequently excluded of the differential diagnosis. However it is associated with higher morbid-mortality than the commonest cecal and sigmoid volvulus, making urgent a rapid diagnostic and chirurgical intervention. The authors present a case of this entity emphasizing the imagiologic diagnostic aspects and a bibliographic revision.Downloads
