Breach of confidentiality in medicine.

This paper deals with the historical development of the legal protection of medical confidentiality in Portugal. Situations that have lead to its relativization, and the present Portuguese legal framework (Criminal Code and the Code of Professional Ethics of the Ordem dos Médicos) are analysed. Finally, the paper focuses on the implementation of the legal framework, taking into account the specific situation of HIV/AIDS.Downloads
