Specialty training is an essential stage in the educational process of a pediatric surgeon. To result in integral formation of a competent professional, the planning of curriculum programme should take into account not only the content, but also the methods, organization, setting and trainees profile. The focus should be placed in the establishment and assessment of criteria for recognition, i.e. accreditation, as training centres and periodic monitoring of apprenticeship. The goal of training is fundamental for programme designing and is dependent on the pediatric surgical care model and scope of specialty. To educate specialists with academic attitude and professionalism to whom patients' well being should be the main concern is the most important contribute for affirmation and prestige of Pediatric Surgery.Downloads
