Peritoneal mesothelioma in a fibrocement industry worker with neurofibromatosis.

Descreve-se um caso de neurofibromatose (doença de von Recklinghausen) com manifestações cutâneas e viscerais e em que foi clinicamente diagnosticado um tumor abdominal difuso. Admitiu-se a possibilidade de se tratar de um schwanoma maligno. A autópsia veio mostrar tratar-se de um mesotelioma peritoneal associado com asbestose pulmonar e contendo corpos asbestósicos. O doente tinha um passado de exposição aos asbestos superior a 30 anos. Revêem-se as manifestações abdominais da neurofibromatose com possível evolução maligna e as características clínico-patológicas do mesotelioma peritoneal.
